Summary:

 

The Offshore Environmental Compliance Officer (14 days in the FPSO/14 days off) is responsible for ensuring compliance to all offshore environmental permits and to the company environmental standards, policies, procedures, and programs specific to Energean operating standards. Executes environmental compliance programs with company, state and local environmental legislation. Directs the identification and definition of existing and potential environmental concerns/risks and their mitigations in order to eliminate those risks.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:


•    Provide technical assistance for environmental health regulations, environmental management systems, and projects.
•    Maintain and enforce ongoing compliance with all environmental permits and regulations as required by the law, regulations, and the MoEP and the MoE guidelines.
•    Perform environmental compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with the environmental regulations
•    Implement environmental management systems and programs for the company
•    Develop plans and procedures for air quality, hazardous materials and waste, spill prevention, discharges to the sea according to the terms and conditions of the permits.
•    Must be familiar with the Israeli environmental regulations and understanding of environmental permit application processes
•    Maintain Energean Israel Environment performance indicators and provide management and ongoing clarity and up to date status and trends on operation environmental performance and compliance. 
•    Manage Energean Israel Environmental programs ensuring its implementation within all operations offshore.
•    Ensure that all Environmental permit conditions, commitments and legal obligations are executed. 
•    Act as Dangerous Goods Supervisor
•    Leading offshore continuous environmental compliance improvement
•    Conducting investigations of suspected violations of environmental permits or regulations
•    Inspecting work sites for possible violations of environmental permits or regulations
•    Preparing written reports detailing observed violations of environmental permits or regulations and recommended solutions
•    Perform continuous training to all parties (e.g., to management, workers, and contractors) regarding environmental permits and regulations to enable project members charged with environmental responsibilities to comply with all environmental and reporting requirements 
•    Support monthly reports on relevant environmental statistics, project information and operational control performance
•    Offshore HSE member working with operations team and OIM
•    Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate across the business interfaces.
•    Strong networking and communication skills externally and internally – ability to cultivate and build strong internal and external relationships with business counterparts. 
•    Compliance and Internal Audit.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:


•    Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry or Engineer a in a related field
•    Environmental role in an industrial facility
•    Good understanding and experience with Israel Environmental regulatory permits and compliance processes.
•    Strong technical environmental capabilities in offshore O&G or other similar industry and demonstrate quick learning curve to fill missing knowledge.
