Summary:

 

Energean is looking for a Group Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit team in Athens, Greece. The role will have the opportunity to actively participate in the whole spectrum of the group internal audit activities, undertake relevant projects end to end, communicate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders of different backgrounds and recommend actions that would ultimately enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Energean processes at a group level.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

    •  
  • Participate in the development and execution of the Group’s risk based internal audit plan
  • Contribute to all phases of the individual internal audit engagements (planning and scoping engagement, performing processes walk throughs and flowcharting, gathering and analyzing audit evidence, testing controls design and operating effectiveness, preparing working papers, monitoring outcomes etc.)
  • Identify potential gaps and propose improvements in the areas of governance, risk management and controls processes
  • Interact effectively with stakeholders to identify opportunities for increasing operational efficiencies, strengthening internal controls, mitigating risks, redesigning business processes etc.
  • Assist with developing audit reports and presentations to Senior Management and Audit & Risk Committee
  • Participate in special/ ad hoc assurance and/ or consulting engagements further to Senior Management’s and the Audit Committee’s respective requests
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our internal audit processes and methodologies in alignment with best practices and developments to relevant regulation, frameworks etc.


Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 3 years solid work experience in an Internal Audit department of a big-4 and/or of a multinational (preferably listed) organization
  • Fluency in English (both verbal and written).
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills (written and oral)
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good knowledge of audit methodology and Internal Audit Standards including a solid understanding of key concepts (internal controls, risk management, etc)
  • Experience in the sector of oil and gas, energy, project manufacturing, or other related area will be considered as a strong plus
  • SAP and/or Internal Audit Software knowledge will be considered as a strong plus
  • Professional certification (CIA, ACCA, CPA etc) will be considered as a plus
  • Master’s degree will be considered as a plus
