Summary
Energean is seeking to employ a highly skilled Senior Network & Systems Administrator to join our Group IT team in Athens. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the operational stability, security, and performance of our enterprise IT infrastructure across multiple company locations.
The role, reporting to the Group Head of Cybersecurity, will act as the senior technical escalation point, maintaining high availability across systems, networks, virtualization platforms, and core services while driving operational excellence and resilience.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure continuous availability of core infrastructure services (compute, storage, network, identity, connectivity)
- Act as the highest technical escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents
- Provide advanced troubleshooting across hybrid, virtualized, and cloud-integrated environments
- Manage and maintain identity services, DNS/DHCP, virtual environments, backup and recovery systems
- Support WAN/LAN connectivity and secure remote access solutions
- Execute patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of infrastructure components
- Ensure infrastructure meets defined RPO/RTO and availability targets
- Support disaster recovery testing and failover readiness
- Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls and hardening standards
- Drive operational improvements, automation, and standardization initiatives
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and operational procedures
- Collaborate with service desk, cybersecurity, application teams, and external vendors
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in enterprise infrastructure, systems engineering, or network administration
- Experience supporting multi-site or geographically distributed environments
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, VPN, routing, switching)
- Microsoft ecosystem (Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365)
- Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Cloud-integrated environments (Azure preferred)
- Proven experience in high-availability production environments
- Strong troubleshooting and incident resolution capability
- Proficiency in English is essential. Willingness to travel globally.
