Summary:

 

Energean is seeking to employ an Environmental Lead for our offices in Haifa. The Environmental Lead is responsible for managing the company environmental (HSE) team, standards, policies and programs specific to Energean operating standards. Executes Environmental compliance programs with company, country, state and local Environmental regulations. Directs the identification and definition of existing and potential Environmental concerns/risks and their solutions.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

•    Manage the development and implementation of Energean Environmental Management System
•    Maintain and enforce ongoing compliance of all permits and regulations as required by MoEP and MoE. 
•    Proactively engage with Environmental related government agencies, building trust and professional relationships to ensure no surprises to the operation and conditions optimization for cost and operability.

•    Establish Energean Israel Environment performance indicators and provide management and ongoing clarity and up to date status and trends on operation environmental performance and compliance. 
•    Manage Energean Israel Environmental programs ensuring its implementation within all operations both onshore and offshore.
•    Set up and maintain Energean Environmental performance goals and indicators based on the Environmental plan. Monitor track and communicate performance.

•    Ensure that all Environmental permit conditions, commitments and legal obligations are executed 
•    Interface with regulatory bodies and with public sector as required.
•    Regular engagement with Energean Israel production personnel and contractors including construction and drilling service contractors to ensure that project and production comply with Energean environmental requirements in the field.

•    Provide technical support to ensure that environmental requirements are included in design of facilities and later during production for optimization and continuous improvement 
•    Undertake onshore and offshore Environmental audits and follow-up on corrective action items execution.
•    Developing Lease Environmental Documents (LED)

•    Updating and delivering employee training programs related to discharge, hazardous materials and waste
•    Developing and maintaining the standardized operational procedures in accordance with the environmental compliance, interpreting the environmental disturbance risks, and communicating with environmental regulatory authorities for compliance assistance.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

•    Master of Science degree in Environmental / Chemical / Marine or O&G 
•    At least 5 years of practical experience in an environmental capacity. 
•    Good understanding and experience with Israel Environmental regulatory permits and compliance processes.

•    Strong technical environmental capabilities in offshore O&G or other similar industry and demonstrate quick learning curve to fill missing knowledge.
•    Compliance with Environmental permit conditions, commitments and legal obligations. 
•    Professional working relations with government and public sector on environmental matters to enable future growth and flexibility for the operation.

 

 

Skills:

 

•    Ability to engage at all levels of the organization and project in the field, offshore operations, with regulators and senior management.
•    Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and demonstrate consistency and persistence for meeting company requirements 
•    A genuine team player having the desire to work in the broader sphere of HSE team activities including occupational safety risk management, emergency and oil spill response.

•    Good negotiation and communication skills and ability to work within a multicultural work environment
•    Ability to work overtime as needed.
•    Ability to travel abroad as required.

•    Ability to travel offshore Israel as needed. 
•    Good written and verbal communication skills
•    Fluent in English and Hebrew

•    Flexible with can-do attitude
•    Problem solving orient
•    Ability to work independently but be a team player working seamlessly within a team environment.
