Summary:
Energean is seeking to employ a Network & Infrastructure System Administrator for our offices in Haifa. The System Administrator will be responsible for supporting maintaining and troubleshooting network infrastructure in the Tel Aviv and Haifa offices, as well as offshore FPSO systems, ensuring operational reliability and security. It is a leading technical position responsible for the engineering, maintenance, supporting planning, follow-up, and interconnection, of different systems and networks operating in the company. This role deeply understand the integration of various networks and systems technologies, including data, telecommunication, computer, and production systems, within company offices and Energean Power FPSO.
Key Accountabilities:
Network Infrastructure Management:
• Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting the company’s network systems, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and remote communications with offshore FPSO.
• Troubleshoot network issues across multiple locations and ensure minimum downtime for business-critical systems.
• Implement and maintain existing security measures to safeguard the company’s infrastructure and sensitive data.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and cybersecurity standards (including offshore operations).
• Capable of running management and configuration tasks in switches, routers, firewalls, servers, computers and other devices of different vendors.
• Work in coordination with Cybersecurity specialists in the deployment and maintenance of the interconnection syste,s. under CISO directives.
VPN and Remote Connectivity:
• Ensure secure, efficient VPN connections for employees working remotely or offshore, including on-site support for offshore network requirements.
System Monitoring & Performance Optimization:
• Monitor network performance and issue reporting about speed, reliability, and scalability.
• Maintain network capacity and plan for future upgrades in line with business growth.
Collaboration & Communication:
• Act as the primary point of contact for network-related issues across offices and offshore teams.
• Coordinate with engineers and management to address network-related issues.
• Provide regular updates and reports on network health and improvements to the management team.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:
• Assist in the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans, especially for offshore operations.
• Conduct regular testing and recovery drills for infrastructure resilience.
Hardware and Software Support:
• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network-related hardware and software.
• Ensure that all infrastructure components are properly integrated, up-to-date, and functioning as expected.
Onsite & Offshore Support:
• Occasionally travel to both office locations (Tel Aviv and Haifa) and offshore Facilities to provide hands-on technical support and infrastructure assessments.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Diploma or technical certification in Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience (2-3 years) on hands-on technical support and maintenance.
• Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, etc.).
• Understanding of network security principles and tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc.).
• Proficiency in configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
• Knowledge of Routing, Switching, Firewalling, Cabling Cat5&6, Fiber optics interconnection, measuring tests, protocols decoding, WiFi network deployment, LAN & WAN interconnection.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux OS, servers, virtual machines, storage.
• Knowledge of cloud-based services and integrations (e.g., AWS, Azure) is beneficial.
Skills:
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving network issues.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment across multiple locations, both onshore and offshore.
• Familiarity with industry regulations, especially in the energy and natural gas sectors, is a plus.
• Strong networking and communication skills, both technical and non-technical, externally and internally – ability to cultivate and build strong internal and external relationships with business counterparts.
• Willingness to travel between locations (Tel Aviv, Haifa and offshore).
• English speaker
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation, technical specifications, manuals, technical drawings and engineering documentation, maintenance reports.
