Summary:

 

The Senior Process Engineer will provide expert process engineering leadership and technical oversight throughout operations, maintenance, integrity management, risk assessment, and improvement initiatives. This role supports safe and efficient performance of process systems from commissioning through operation and plays a key part in technical decision-making to maintain high standards of safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

• Provide advanced process engineering expertise to operations, ensuring safe and efficient functioning of hydrocarbon processing systems. 
• Act as the technical authority for process integrity, troubleshooting, and optimisation. 
• Support process design reviews, operational risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, MAH, Bow-Tie), and Management of Change (MOC) activities.
• Lead or contribute to Asset Integrity Management (AIM) practices, including corrosion risk assessment, inspection planning, and reliability studies.
• Define inspection strategies, frequencies and appropriate techniques.
• Oversee anomaly management, reviewing deviations and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Coordinate with offshore and onshore teams to optimize production performance, minimize downtime and reduce safety or environmental risks.
• Analyze process performance data, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements. 
• Provide support for commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and optimization of process systems.
• Prepare and deliver planning, progress, forecast, and performance reports to Operations management.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment on process risks, technical issues, and operational improvements.

• Embed and champion Energean’s safety culture, ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with HSE standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in incident investigations and lead or contribute to process safety initiatives.


Qualifications and Experience:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Process Engineering or related discipline (engineering accreditation preferred).
• Offshore safety certifications (e.g., MIST, BOSIET) are required.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in process engineering within the oil & gas or petrochemical sector, ideally in both operations and project support. 

• Proven expertise in process safety analysis, risk-based inspection (RBI), maintenance support practices, and process optimization.

• Experience supporting offshore FPSO operations, commissioning, and troubleshooting is strongly preferred.


Skills:

 

• High proficiency in interpreting PFDs, P&IDs, inspection and maintenance documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and reporting skills. 

• Ability to influence outcomes and drive technical alignment across multidisciplinary teams.
• Advanced MS Office competence; familiarity with process simulation or analysis tools is advantageous.
