Summary:
The Head of Tax has a strong oversight of domestic taxation and implementation of best practices in the tax field, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, careful tax planning and optimization, assessing the tax impacts of contracts.

The candidate will also manage relationships with external consultants, the Revenue Agency, and other tax authorities and will work closely with other departments such as administration, planning and control, and legal to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.

The role will directly report to the Italian Head of Finance.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Corporate Taxation Area
    • Draft the financial statements (annual and interim), calculate tax provisions, and prepare tax returns, ensuring the accuracy of data
    • Manage 'tax compliance', intercompany relations, and transfer pricing reporting, providing daily advice on tax-related issues and optimizing the tax burden of the Group
    • Professional development to support the working group and other company functions, including participation in roundtables organized by industry associations
    • Support management in the event of extraordinary transactions, including for non-resident Group companies
    • Manage all domestic and international VAT matters
    • Review and approve accounting entries related to taxes
    • Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting
    • Assist in estimating tax liabilities for budgeting purposes

 

  • Tax Litigation Area
    • Manage tax assessments (drafting documents and coordinating external consultants for pre-litigation activities), liaising with the authorities
    • Handle self-protection procedures, tax assessments with adherence, and generally 'deflationary' actions with the Revenue Agency, Regional Tax Office, and Customs
    • Manage contentious cases and liaise with authorities. Oversight during tax audits and in judicial proceedings at Tax Courts

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualification as a Chartered Accountant and Statutory Auditor
  • Master's degree in Economics and Commerce
  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar role, in structured and internationally oriented environments
