Summary:

 

Energean is seeking to employ an Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) Engineer, with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, who will play a leadership role in overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced control systems. This position requires a professional with a strong background in Instrument & Control systems engineering, automation technologies and a deep understanding of complex control strategies and instrumentation in the context of FPSO facilities.

 


Key Accountabilities:

 

Leadership and Strategy:
•    Provide technical leadership in the development and execution of control system strategies for FPSO operations.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align control system initiatives with overall project objectives and company standards.
Advanced Control Strategies:
•    Design and implement advanced control algorithms to optimize FPSO processes, including model predictive control (MPC) and adaptive control strategies.
•    Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance control system performance and reliability.
Integration and Interface Management:
•    Oversee the integration of electrical & control systems with other subsystems, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
•    Manage interfaces with third-party vendors for electrical & control system hardware and software.
Technical Oversight:
•    Conduct in-depth analysis and troubleshooting of complex control system issues.
Risk Management and Safety:
•    Lead and participate in risk assessments and HAZOP studies to identify potential hazards and implement effective control measures.
•    Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
Documentation and Reporting:
•    Oversee the maintenance of comprehensive documentation for electrical & control system configurations, logic diagrams, and software versions.
•    Generate regular reports on system’s performance, reliability, and recommend improvements.

 


Qualifications and Experience:

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in electrical, instrumentation, or control engineering (or related field)
•    Master's degree or relevant certifications would be an advantage
•    Experience (typically 4+ years) in control system engineering

•    Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as IEC 61850, ISA-95, and API standards
•    Knowledge of DCS, PLC, SIS, and other automation technologies specific to the oil and gas industry, including comprehensive knowledge with Siemens PCS7 system
•    Project management experience, including the ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams

•    Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with ability to adapt style and content of presentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
•    Ability to demonstrate team working skills and collaborate with and influence key decision makers in an operations environment, but also a self-starter independently
•    Delivery focused and can successfully manage multiple interfaces and work streams

•    Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic and challenging offshore environment
•    Enthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learn
•    Flexible with a can-do attitude
