Summary:

 

Energean is seeking to employ a Marine Control Room Operator reports to the Marine Team Lead and will assist in all marine aspects relating to the operation of the FPSO. Responsible to monitor, control and operate the marine and cargo operations efficiently, ensuring all procedures are adhered to and all defects are reported to the Offshore Maintenance Team Lead. Ensure to display a pro-active and continuous approach to safety.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

General marine duties   

  • Reporting to Marine Team Lead.
  • Actively participating in embedding Energean core values and culture to deliver safety as top priority. Proactively support compliance with Energean Life Saving Rules.
  • Read, understand, and implement all Energean applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring that discipline activities are always completed safely and to a high standard.
  • To contribute discipline experience to the ongoing development of Energean Power project work methods and processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist, guide and give clear instructions to deck crew team with Tanker Mooring and Export Hose handling equipment.
  • Fulfil Emergency Response role as required (i.e. Fire Team Member / Lifeboat Coxswain)
  • Managing weekly lifeboat, liferaft and helideck monitor checks.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping conditions in all areas
  • Attend safety committee meetings and demonstrate safety awareness in the performance of normal work function.
  • Ensure all certificates relevant to the discipline role are in date.
  • Working 14/14 rotation on standard 12 hours shift with night shift working as required and delegated by Line Supervisor.
  • As part of the marine team accountable for all aspects of deck management ensuring walkways, escape routes and lay-down areas are kept clear of obstruction and have awareness of deck loading limits.
  • Specialist role duties
  • Liaising with onshore and offshore support teams.
  • Ongoing liaising with project engineers to ensure that Energean aims are being met and where required specialist knowledge and experience is brought to bear to reach a suitable resolution.
  • On site assessment of the systems to ensure operability will be acceptable with and deficiencies identified in a timely manner to enable resolution or mitigation.
  • Support the commissioning activities and immediately highlight to Energean any gaps or shortfalls so that they can be addressed where possible or where not that the risks are suitably well understood.
  • Identification and ratification of spare parts required and planning suitable storage locations on board.
  • Liaising with TFMC contractors to ensure that forward maintenance activities are understood, and that the CMMS is appropriately detailed with focus on known weaknesses as identified by vendors.
  • Review and take ownership of special tooling delivered with packages to make sure that nothing goes missing.
  • Working with the operations technicians to progress through the competency program including on site walk throughs and demonstrations of competency which will require to be documented.
  • Working with project teams as part of the system walk downs, punch listing and handover. 
  • On site walk throughs and dry runs of the system operating manuals to make sure that they are fit for purpose and accurate
  • On site reviews of the equipment maintainability and assessment of equipment handling solutions to make sure that they are fit for purpose. 
  • Prepare for the transition to Energean safe systems of work at sail away to ensure that Energean’s duty of care if fulfilled
  • Development of operational procedures to match the actual equipment and locations on-board to ensure that high risk activities such as offloads can be undertaken and controlled to an acceptable level.
  • Participation in ensuring that preservation activities are completed to a high standard to make sure that equipment is ready to operate when on location with minimal delay
  • In all cases looking out for Energean’s best interests.
  • Coaching and mentoring as delegated.
  • Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to deck crew and crane operators
  • Executing assigned personal objectives.
  • Control, Monitor, receive, store and discharge crude oil cargo and slops, COW, operation of inert gas systems, maintaining stability of FPSO and monitoring of FPSO safety and control systems complying with all the working and reporting procedures and relevant standards set down.
  • Ensure the quality of the Cargo, minimising the quantity of free water present in the cargo.
  • Management of produced water (hydration tanks)
  • Operate the ballast system including the operation of ballast valves and pumps, including routine and emergency ballasting/de-ballasting.
  • Complete / record marine planned maintenance activities and update Maintenance Management System, inputting data and printing job cards as requested.
  • Act as area authority for the cargo area excluding the crane and helideck.
  • Plan, monitor and execute all tank entry preparations and inspections.
  • Report any irregularities and advise (where necessary) to the Marine team Lead in a clear, concise, established procedure and record the relevant information in the marine/official log book.
  • Be fully conversant with the unit’s stability manual with emphasis on stability and methods of recovery from damage conditions.
  • The focal point for marine activities when on night-shift, assisting vendors where applicable.
  • Operation of a variety of marine systems throughout the FPSO such as hydraulic cargo systems, bilge and ballast systems, Pot water and sewage systems.
  • Carrying out first line maintenance on the various marine systems.
  • Responsible for the safe and cost effective operation and maintenance of the Facility's marine systems with minimal environmental impact in accordance with legislation, class, flag, and the integrated facility management system.

    

Marine Control Room watch keeping duties:

 

  • Load Crude oil as per loading plan, manage offtake tankers approach, connection, offload, and disconnection safely, maintain the installations stability at all times within acceptable limits, manage COST and Ballast tank cleaning, gas freeing entry and remedial activities, act as marine responsible person, monitoring and adjusting ballast as required.
  • Monitor mooring system
  • Monitor weather forecasts and heavy weather preparation for asset

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

•    Qualified Mariner with relevant experience of Oil and Gas vessel operations, STCW Certificate of Competency as a Chief Officer (Unlimited tonnage and area).
•    Technical training to at least HNC/HND level or equivalent qualification.
•    Lifting Equipment Inspection Course

•    Working at Height & Restricted VHF
•    Fire Team Member/Leader Trained
•    FPSO experience essential

•    ERT experience essential
•    Experienced MCRO practiced within the offshore operations and maintenance marine environment.
