Summary:
Energean Israel seeks an Offshore Environmental Compliance Officer to ensure compliance and adherence to all offshore environmental permits, company standards and procedures and relevant regulations. The officer collaborates closely with offshore teams and the onshore environmental team to identify and mitigate environmental risks, manages compliance programs and audits and is responsible for reporting to regulators in accordance with permits and guidelines.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure continuous compliance with all environmental permits, laws, and regulations, including those issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MoEP) and Ministry of Energy (MoE).
- Responsible for timely reporting to regulators as required by applicable permits and regulatory guidelines and support investigation of reportable events
- Conduct site compliance audits both internal and external, prepare detailed reports of findings and implement corrective actions
- Serve as Dangerous Goods Supervisor offshore
- Provide continuous training to management, staff, and contractors to promote awareness and compliance with environmental and reporting requirements.
- Support environmental management system and lead ongoing improvement of environmental compliance and performance offshore
- Support the development and implementation of procedures relating to air emissions, hazardous materials and wastes, and discharges to sea
- Maintain and report environmental performance indicators to provide accurate operational insights and ensure compliance with permit requirements, including support on monthly report to group.
- Serve as the environmental and regulatory focal point offshore, working closely with OPS, the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) and the onshore environmental and compliance teams
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Proven experience in an environmental role within an industrial or offshore facility – preferred.
- Background in Israeli environmental regulations and permit application processes.
- Strong technical capabilities and hands-on experience in offshore oil & gas or a comparable industry – preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn rapidly in complex environments.
