Summary:

 

Energean is seeking to employ an Offshore Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) Engineer for its operations in Israel. The role requires extensive oil and gas experience, with a strong background in Instrumentation & Control systems engineering and automation technologies, and a deep understanding of complex control strategies and instrumentation in the context of FPSO facilities. This is a hands-on position, ensuring 24/7 coverage and reliability of Siemens PCS7 control systems to support safe and continuous offshore production.

 


Key Accountabilities:

 

Leadership and Strategy

  • Provide technical leadership in the development and execution of control system strategies for FPSO operations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align control system initiatives with project objectives and company standards.

Advanced Control Strategies

  • Design, implement, and maintain advanced control algorithms to optimize FPSO processes, including model predictive control (MPC) and adaptive control strategies.

  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies to enhance control system performance, safety, and reliability.

Integration and Interface Management

  • Oversee the integration of ICSS with electrical and mechanical subsystems, ensuring seamless communication and system integrity.

  • Manage vendor interfaces for control system hardware and software, with a focus on Siemens PCS7.

Technical Oversight

  • Provide expert troubleshooting and resolution of complex ICSS issues in real time.

  • Ensure 24/7 hands-on coverage to maintain production continuity and minimize downtime.

Risk Management and Safety

  • Lead and participate in HAZOPs, risk assessments, and system audits to identify hazards and implement preventive measures.

  • Ensure strict compliance with Energean standards, international regulations, and industry best practices.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation, including logic diagrams, configurations, and software versions.

  • Produce reports on ICSS performance, downtime events, and improvement recommendations.

 


Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering (or related discipline).

  • Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety) preferred.

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in control system engineering within oil and gas or similar heavy industry.

  • Strong knowledge of Siemens PCS7 systems (essential).

  • Familiarity with DCS, PLC, SIS, and automation technologies.

  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards (IEC 61850, ISA-95, API, IEC61511).

  • Project management and vendor coordination experience.
