Summary

 

Energean is seeking to employ a detail-oriented Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will handle a variety of accounting tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting, both for the local company and for the group.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Maintain accurate accounts for locally registered companies, reviewing accounting documents for completeness, and making corrective adjustments. Prepare statutory accounts and related disclosures.
  • Support monthly and year-end close processes, including reconciling accounting records with financial reports.
  • Collaborate with related departments to ensure the timely acquisition and processing of financial data.
  • Manage the statutory audit of locally registered companies in cooperation with local auditors.
  • Contribute to the development and drafting of annual budgets and financial reports, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Assist in Group financial reporting by collating financial results in a defined format for legal entities within the Group and drafting related disclosures for the Group financial statements.
  • Review intra-group transactions for eliminations, investigate discrepancies, and adjust the group financial results accordingly.
  • Oversee other group-related adjustments, such as those related to centrally held accounts (e.g., share-based payments), by working closely with local financial controllers.
  • Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing documentation required by the Group auditor.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Finance or Accounting or is an ACCA (or equivalent) part-qualified professional.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an international company or a BIG-4 firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) and their application.
  • Computer literate and experienced with MS Office suite of applications, especially Excel, and experienced with ERP systems; SAP knowledge is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent command of the English and Greek language (oral and written communication).
