Summary

 

Energean is seeking to employ a Senior Subsea & Pipelines Engineer who will be responsible for providing deep technical expertise in pipeline engineering to projects and operations, including design, maintenance, and inspection, recommend technical solutions and technology developments and provide leadership of engineering studies, risk assessments and Management of Change (MoC) efforts, contributing to the strategic development, long-term improvement of the team and advancing the technical integrity of assets.

 

Position could be based either in Energean’s head offices in Athens, Greece or the offices in Nicosia, Cyprus.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Provides advanced technical expertise in Pipeline and SURF engineering, including the review of integrity calculations, analysis reports (such as pipeline global and local buckling checks, fatigue, VIV, ECA etc.), material specifications, LOF (Life of Field) pipeline operability based on relevant design codes.
  • Provides independent expert technical advice on pipeline and SURF design, scope definition, equipment specification, construction, inspection, IMR, employing risk management techniques and advising on Management of Change (MoC) efforts where applicable.
  • Provides specialist skills in the review of subsea structures and tie in connectors (SSIVs, PLETS, Manifolds etc.), assessing parameters such as mechanical functionality, installation, retrievability, material and ROV accessibility.
  • Planning and supporting execution of subsea activities, including inspection, remediation, and stabilization of pipeline components. Working with 3rd party contractors to ensure projects and campaigns are executed correctly.
  • Provides a timely and measured response to incidents and emerging issues and contributes to the delivery and verification of operational readiness activities. Supports the Company in meetings/correspondence with subcontractors, 3rd parties such as MOE, NGA (Ministry of Energy of Israel, National Gas Authority etc.), etc. in a technical authority capacity.
  • Reviews method statements for offshore vessels to perform subsea operations including pipelay operations, subsea structures installations and tie ins, and ancillary operations such as ROV operations - lifting/ survey, grillage and seafastening construction etc. with the aim to perform an efficient and safe operation and cut down Company costs.
  • Perform offshore Client Representative duties as and when required by Company.
  • Provides engineering assistance 24/7 during mobilisation or site working where required.
  • Provides remote technical and engineering support to offshore teams 24/7, as and when required.
  • Actively participate in tenders and assess the functionality of equipment, safety of existing seabed infrastructure and overall solutions proposed, to ensure a safe and cost-effective campaign.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining technical practices, guidance notes and tools to verify consistent application, ensuring:
    • technical practices are up to date, practical, pragmatic, and aligned to industry requirements.
    • lessons are captured, codified, and embedded.
    • advanced engineering installation techniques and codes for deepwater systems such as steel catenary risers, flexible risers, rigid pipelines, flexible pipelines and or subsea structure deployment are reflected in the way we work.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or related field
  • Chartered or Professional Engineer
  • 15 years of experience with pipeline and/or SURF related (full project lifecycle) roles within the offshore industry.
  • Excellent command of the English and Greek language (oral and written communication)
  • Computer literate and experienced with MS Office suite of applications
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis techniques.
  • Familiar with project engineering and management
  • Offshore and / or manufacturing site experience
  • Familiar with the specification and procurement of pipeline equipment
  • Familiar with integrity management.
  • Familiar with welding and fatigue assessment techniques.
  • Familiar with corrosion, corrosion-fatigue, and coatings requirements for subsea equipment
  • Working knowledge of pipeline and SURF industry codes and standards.
  • Familiar with pipeline and SURF construction, repair, and maintenance activities
  • Willingness to travel globally.
