Summary:
With reference to the mining concession C.C6. EO operated in Italy by Energean Italy S.p.A., there is a hydrocarbon extraction field called Vega in which an oil platform called Vega A is installed for the exploitation of the related field.
The Vega A platform is manned 24 hours a day by both social staff and contractor personnel who both provide for the maintenance of the plants in operation and safety, ensuring the full functionality of the process logics, the maintenance of legislative standards as well as the production regimes required by the company.
In this context, the Production Operator, following the specific instructions of the Shift Manager, acts in order to guarantee all the aspects described above, ensuring the management of the plant through the continuous monitoring of production parameters, safety and alarms of the entire production process including services and utilities.
To this end, following a formal appointment issued by the Owner of the Mining Concession, he acts as Supervisor of the Vega A platform workplace pursuant to the mining regulations of Legislative Decree 624/96.
For the above, the Supervisor is obliged to supervise the legislative and regulatory provisions on the protection of the safety and health of workers, ensuring their full implementation.
The Supervisor ensures the presence on the site of execution of the works on a continuous basis, and for safety surveillance activities they report directly to the Director in charge.
This figure is administratively and hierarchically allocated in the Production Fields Operated and reports to the Production Shift Manager. In the execution of the role of Overseer, he/she reports directly to the Director in charge of the mining concession, as defined by the safety organization chart.
The activity will normally take place for a continuous period on board the Vega platform of 14 days a month followed by 14 days of rest. The work activity during the period of boarding on the platform will take place in shifts of 12 hours a day (12:00-24:00 or 24:00-12:00).
Key Accountabilities:
- Operation of the facilities and continuous monitoring of production processes, safety systems, and utilities under the instructions of the Shift Supervisor.
- Continuous supervision of process and production parameters to assess individual well performance and proper facility operation.
- Supervising the securing of equipment and plant sections to allow for specific inspection/maintenance interventions as instructed by the Shift Supervisor.
- Supervision and monitoring of plant systems to prevent any type of pollution.
- On-site supervision of work activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Recording operating parameter readings both onsite and in the control room to monitor the proper functioning of the production process.
- Verification and monitoring of all plant safety systems, ensuring the full functionality of individual components in accordance with regulations and inspection/maintenance plans.
- Determination of well production parameters through specific analyses conducted in the platform’s laboratory.
- Active participation in the emergency response team and activation and operation of available rescue equipment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Technical/industrial diploma.
- At least 3 years' experience in industrial plant operation in the oil & gas and/or petrochemical sector. Experience in offshore environments appreciated.
- Knowledge of the main plant and process management concepts, as well as safety and environmental protection regulations.
- Knowledge of safety plant regulations (PED, ATEX, LDAR, etc.)
