Summary

 

Enearth, a subsidiary of Energean, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support its growing Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) activities.

Reporting to the Head of CCS, the role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient accounting operations, while supporting critical month-end and year-end processes.

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local statutory requirements
  • Review and monitor balance sheet reconciliations (bank, intercompany, payroll)
  • Analyze financial results and explain variances versus budget and forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and statutory reporting obligations
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and responses to queries
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate execution
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy across operations

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a multinational environment
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS and local accounting and tax regulations
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)

  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills in both Greek and English
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
