Summary

 

Energean is looking for a Senior Development Geologist to join its Israel Subsurface team.  Responsibilities include delivery of geological studies and models to support greenfield developments, reservoir management strategies, production planning and well planning projects. 

The successful candidate will be based in Athens and will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, both locally and remotely. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects and meet challenging deadlines, along with proven experience engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Strong communication skills are essential.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Conduct comprehensive geological studies to identify opportunities, guide field development activities, and support effective reservoir management.
  • Integrate well log, seismic, core data, petrophysical analysis, and other relevant information into geocellular models for volumetric assessment and optimized reservoir management.
  • Collaborate closely with reservoir engineers to ensure the timely delivery of robust production forecasts.
  • Identify material opportunities supported by robust geological analysis and progress them through detailed well planning and data acquisition programs, in close coordination with the Well Engineering and Completions team. Provide timely geological support during drilling operations.
  • Actively participate in engagements with third-party stakeholders, including Regulators and reserves auditors.
  • Mentor and support the development of less experienced members of the Energean development geosciences team.

 

Qualifications and Experience 

 

  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience working within an Operator on operated assets
  • MSc or PhD in Geology or a related field

 

Skills 

 

  • Highly motivated, proactive individual with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and deliver against competing priorities.
  • Extensive experience working within multidisciplinary teams, including geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir engineering, well engineering, production, and operations.
  • Strong experience supporting drilling operations and the acquisition of formation evaluation data.
  • Adaptable and responsive to changing circumstances, with sound commercial awareness.
  • Ability to identify key issues and uncertainties impacting the business, and to define workstreams that add project value.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Significant experience in building fit-for-purpose deterministic and stochastic geocellular models using Petrel software.
  • Experience managing third-party studies, including core analysis, biostratigraphy and petrophysical studies.
  • Good working knowledge of PRMS, with experience in reserves auditing processes.
  • Extensive experience in well planning and drilling operations.
