Summary:

 

Energean is seeking to employ a Cost Controller for our offices in Haifa. The Energean Cost Controller plays a crucial role in managing and controlling projects and operation costs to ensure financial efficiency and adherence to budgetary constraints. This position involves monitoring, analysing, and reporting on project expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and collaborating with project managers and operation team on budgeting, estimating, tracking, forecasting, record keeping, reporting, auditing, and data management, to optimize financial performance.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

•    Develop and maintain budgets in collaboration with managers and relevant stakeholders.
•    Monitor budgetary allocations and track expenditures to ensure alignment with financial plans.
•    Regularly review and analyze project costs, identifying variances and discrepancies.

•    Investigate and report on the root causes of cost overruns or savings to facilitate informed decision-making.
•    Prepare accurate and timely cost forecasts based on project progress and potential changes in scope.
•    Collaborate with project managers to assess the financial impact of project modifications.

•    Generate and distribute regular cost reports to management, highlighting key financial metrics, trends, and areas of concern.
•    Provide insights and recommendations for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.
•    Collaborate with procurement and contracts teams to ensure contracts are aligned with budgetary constraints.

•    Monitor vendor performance and adherence to contractual terms, negotiating changes when necessary.
•    Identify potential financial risks and work with project teams to develop mitigation strategies.
•    Implement risk assessment processes to proactively address financial challenges.

•    Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and financial standards.
•    Participate in audits and support the development of audit responses related to project costs.
•    Propose and implement process improvements to enhance cost control procedures.

•    Stay abreast of industry best practices and recommend innovations to optimize cost management.

 

    

Qualifications and Experience:

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
•    Proven experience as a Cost Controller, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
•    Strong understanding of project management principles and cost control techniques.

•    Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools.
•    Highly proficient with MS Office Suite (particularly MS Excel)
•    Proficient with SAP
